1st Annual Bay Area Recovery Forum and Mental Health Leadership Symposium

“Realizing Recovery, Working for Wellness”, is an innovative multidisciplinary event that draws together stakeholders, consumer advocates, and national experts across fields to foster community learning around the recovery model, spark interest in broad leadership groups between consumer/survivors, mental health providers, and policymakers. This Forum will foster collaboration for implementing recovery and wellness via practice-oriented panels and workshops, community and consumer stakeholder empowerment training.

The San Francisco Bay Area is richly resourced with programs, services, and supports that are designed to support recovery, but there is a lack of systemic orientation to the core elements of the recovery model, outcomes associated with them, and how these relate to community-based services and supports.

Featured speakers will include Patricia Deegan, Ph.D., internationally recognized recovery expert and psychologist, Captain Jon Perez. Ph.D. of SAMHSA, addressing the “new definition” of recovery and related federal initiatives.
